为了更好地鼓励参与中文学习,提高兴趣和增强水平,达福中文教育协会将与德州大学达拉斯分校孔子学院合作,于六月22日在UTD Jonsson Performance Hall (JO) 举办首届达福地区中华文化才艺大奖赛,其中包括知识竞赛和才艺比赛。我们将参照中华文化大赛题库与模拟试题要求,举办50分钟(中学组标准一百题、小学组简化一百题)的知识竞赛,并参考中华文化总决赛的才艺比赛规则,要求每人3分钟的才艺表演。才艺表演形式不一,可以是演讲、朗诵、歌舞、相声、演奏和武术等等。主题要求与中国文化有关。我们将55%知识竞赛成绩、40%才艺比赛成绩和5%的现场人气评分综合以后,产生大奖赛个人成绩。知识竞赛与才艺比赛将分小学组和中学组,各设立大奖赛一、二、三等奖各一名,分别可获得奖金$100$50$25(或同等价值的奖品),将设立不分组别的二个单项奖:知识竞赛特等奖与才艺比赛特等奖,可获得奖金$70(或同等价值的奖品),年龄等其他因素将纳入评审范围。达福地区所有中文学习者,不分族裔,无论在公立、私立还是周末班、课后班学习,均可参与,所有参赛者将优先获得参加2014年在中国各地举办的“寻根之旅”夏令营,营地活动精彩,完全免费。我们将邀请至少5位资深教师、专家担任评委。

Culture and Talent Contest

In order to encourage students’ participation, increase their interest, and enhance the learning of Chinese language and culture,  DFW Chinese Education Association and University of Texas Dallas Confucius Institute are co-hosting the first DFW Chinese Culture and Talent Contest on Saturday, June 22 (8am-2pm) 2013 at UTD Jonsson Performance Hall (JO).  The contest is composed of two sections:  a 50-minute (100 questions for middle school group and elementary group respectively) Chinese Culture Knowledge Competition and a 3-minuteTalent Show.  The Talent Show can be but not limited to speech, reciting, singing, dancing, talk show, music instrument, magic show and martial arts, however, the theme has to be relevant to Chinese culture.

         Scoring:  Chinese culture knowledge competition   55%  Talent Show 40% ,  Audience Feedback 5%

Elementary group and Middle School group will each have a First, Second and Third place (the value of the prize will be $100, $50, and $25).  Two individual prizes—Knowledge Competition Special Prize & Talent Show Special Prize—will be generated among all participants (the prize will be a $70 value), while factors such as age and prior learning experience will be taken into consideration.

All Chinese language learners of DFW area are greatly encouraged to sign up, regardless of the learners’ race and ethnicity, from public or private school, weekend or after school.  All participants will receive a priority to attend 2014 “Root Searching” Summer Camps in China. All camps are infused with rich activities and are all FREE for campers.

The judges of the contest will be experienced teachers and experts in the field.  A free workshop is scheduled on June 15 (1-3pm at QD Acadamy).  Participants of the contest will benefit from the mock test of Chinese culture knowledge and an information session during the workshop.
